Kastelo is duly incorporated and domiciled in the Republic of South Africa as an Accountable Institution with the Financial Intelligence Centre, under Organisation ID: 53179. As a result, we have certain responsibilities, laws and regulations to adhere to.

FICA stands for the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (Act 38 of 2001), a South African law which has been designed to combat money laundering, terrorist financing and other financial crimes. By following FICA requirements, we ensure the safety and integrity of the financial system while protecting you from potential fraud and criminal activity.

Under FICA, financial institutions are required to verify and maintain accurate customer information. This includes your identity, address, and source of funds. By keeping this information up-to-date, you help us to comply with the law and safeguard your Kastelo Account from unauthorised access or misuse.

We take your privacy seriously. All Personal information is processed in line with the POPI Act and our established protocols. Your Personal Information is used solely for regulatory compliance and will not be shared without your consent unless required by law.

We may request the following details:

• A valid ID or passport (for South African and foreign nationals);
• Proof of residential address (e.g. utility bill, lease agreement, bank statement);
• Source of funds or source of wealth;
• Employment details or occupation;
• Contact information (e.g. phone number, email address).

Your Personal Information or financial situation can change over time. For example, you may move to a new address, get married or change jobs. Regular updates ensure your account information remains accurate and compliant with FICA regulations.

If we're unable to obtain the required information, as an Accountable Institution, we are prevented from:

• Processing certain transactions;
• Opening new accounts; and/or
• Maintaining access to existing accounts.

This could result in temporary restrictions being placed on your Kastelo Account until the required updates are provided.

We will notify you if any updates are required. Our communications will include clear instructions and a list of documents needed to make the process as seamless as possible.

If your ID is lost, stolen or being reissued the following may be accepted:

• Valid passport; or
• Valid driver's license.

The above documents must have the following present:

• A photograph;
• Full names or initials and surname;
• Date of birth; and
• Identity number.

This is the process of continuously reviewing and updating client information throughout our relationships. It helps us meet regulatory standards while understanding your evolving needs.

Understanding where your funds come from helps us ensure they're not linked to illicit activities. This information also supports global efforts to combat financial crime.

FICA doesn't just help us to comply with the law, it also protects you by making it harder for criminals to misuse your Kastelo Account. It also ensures that the financial system remains stable, secure, and trustworthy.

Your Kastelo Account is only restricted if the required information isn't provided after reasonable notice. If this happens, you can easily regain access by submitting the requested details.

If you notice unusual activity on your account, contact us immediately. We are required to report suspicious activities and transactions to the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), to ensure your funds are protected.

Kastelo Stocks are tokenised stocks, which are digital versions of real company shares, issued on a blockchain. Tokens can represent a portion of a share, so you can invest in major global companies without needing to buy a full stock.

You can start with as little as R20, giving you easy access to global markets and the flexibility to grow your portfolio at your own pace.

Buying stocks through your Kastelo Wallet is quick and convenient. Please follow the steps below:

• 1. Log in to your Kastelo profile.
• 2. Swipe to Kastelo Stocks on your home screen OR click on the Accounts option.
• 3. Click on Buy Stocks.
• 4. Select the company you would like to invest in.
• 5. Click on the Buy button.
• 6. Enter the amount you would like to invest.
• 7. Click on Next to confirm your purchase.

The amount will be deducted from your verified ZAR account.

Once the transaction is complete, your investment will reflect under your Kastelo Stocks account.

You can sell your Kastelo Stocks at any time. Once you choose the stock you want to sell and confirm the transaction, the funds will be paid into your verified ZAR account.

You can make money from Kastelo Stocks through capital growth. This means if the value of the stocks increases, you can sell them for a higher price than you bought them.

Your earnings will reflect in your Kastelo Stocks account, and you can withdraw them to your verified ZAR account whenever you like.

When you buy Kastelo Stocks, you are the beneficial owner of a digital token that represents a portion of the real stock – giving you a secure and convenient way to invest in top companies without the hassle of managing the stocks yourself.

There is a 1% flat rate fee on the value of your transaction, whether you are buying or selling stocks.

Buying traditional stocks is a direct investment in the underlying entity. Tokenised stocks allow you to buy a digital representation of those traditional stocks, or fractions thereof, making investing more accessible. You can start with very small amounts and access global markets without needing a full brokerage account. Keep in mind that tokenised stocks do not represent ownership, equity, or shareholder rights in the underlying entities.

You can track your Kastelo Stocks in real time through our platform, see their current value, and monitor your portfolio performance.

Important Considerations before Investing:

At Kastelo, we're passionate about making money easy. Yet, you should know that investments in tokenised stocks and ETF carry inherent risks that can influence outcomes.

• Market Volatility: Prices fluctuate due to events out of Kastelo's control, like global economic shifts or market sentiments. Values may rise sharply, and fall, all in one day.
• Potential Losses: You could lose part or even all of your invested capital. No investment is guaranteed to perform positively.
• Historical Performance: Past results offer no assurance of future gains. Markets evolve, and what happened before may not repeat.
• Non-traditional Stocks: Tokenised stocks are digital representations of traditional stocks, meaning that you are not entitled to ordinary shareholder rights, like dividends, in the underlying listed entities.
• Independent Decisions: Kastelo provides tools and access, not advice of any nature. All choices remain yours, aligned with your goals and risk tolerance.

Any South African adult resident can open a TFSA.

• Grow your savings without any taxation.
• Enjoy unrestricted access to your money.
• Choose from different funds to suit your investment goals.

• Only individual South Africans with tax numbers are eligible.
• A regular income cannot be paid out – interest and dividends earned are automatically reinvested.
• No protection against creditor claims.
• A maximum of R46,000 per annum and R500,000 over your lifetime can be contributed.

If you choose not to invest the full R46,000 annual limit, any unused portion of the limit cannot be rolled over to the next year. So if you only invest R25,000 during the tax year, the remaining R11,000 of your annual limit cannot be carried forward to the next tax year and will be forfeited.

Yes, but be sure to keep your total annual contributions across your accounts within the R46,000 limit per tax year (and the R500,000 lifetime limit).

You can withdraw at anytime but usually the longer you invest, the better the returns. Withdrawals will be processed within 5 - 7 business days of receipt of withdrawal instruction.

All amounts you invest will count towards your annual and lifetime limits regardless of any withdrawals you make. In other words, if you invest R46,000 this tax year and then withdraw some or all of your savings, any further investment during the tax year will be taxed at 40%.

The executor of your estate will close the TFSA and distribute the funds according to your will (or, if there is no will, in accordance with the laws of intestate succession).

• Sygnia Annual Admin Fee: 0.35% (excl. VAT)
• Sygnia Annual Fund Management Fee: Up to 0.59% (fund dependent)
• Kastelo Initial Fee: 0.5% (excl. VAT)
• Kastelo Annual Fee: 0.5% (excl. VAT)

Save without paying taxes on any of the growth or income you earn. In addition, you are not taxed on withdrawal or termination of the account.

However, any contributions made to tax-free savings accounts over and above the maximum contribution limits will attract tax at a rate of 40%.

Profits, earnings and withdrawals from your TFSA are not deducted from nor do they contribute to your Annual Investment Limit or your Lifetime Investment Limit.
